The observable Universe is about 13.8 billion years old. It's apparent diameter is around 93 billion light years, and it is still expanding. The universe is partly made up of an estimated 200 billion Galaxies. The Galaxies themselves our made up of billions of Stars. The stuff that we are made of is called Baryonic Matter. It is also the same stuff that makes up all of the stars and galaxies, all of the planets and moon's , every thing that we eat and drink and the air that we breath. The bigger picture is that baryonic matter accounts for just under 5% of the total mass of the known universe. The rest is roughly made up of 68% dark energy and 27% dark matter, and at this point in time we do not know exactly what either dark energy or dark matter is.
If you were standing on the Earth's equator ,you would be turning at just over 1,000 miles per hour, at the same time the Earth is traveling around our Sun at 66,486 miles per hour, our Solar System is traveling around the Milky Way at 434,959 miles per hour, and our Milky Way is moving around the Universe at about 1,367,016 miles per hour.
Our Sun is about 93 million miles from Earth, the next nearest Star to us after our Sun is Proxima Centauri 4.24 light years away, our Solar System is about 30,000 light years from the centre of our Galaxy, the next nearest large galaxy to the Milky Way is the Andromeda galaxy at a distance of 2.57 million light years, and to top it off the size of the observable Universe is about 93 billion light years. It has also been estimated that there is over 100 billion Planets in our Milky Way galaxy alone?
Andromeda is traveling towards us at about 250,000 MPH.
Even at that speed it will take 4 billion years to get here.
Andromeda can be seen with the naked eye from a dark site as a star size "fuzzy blob " in the constellation Andromeda.
M32 is 2.48 million light years away and has a mass of 3 billion suns.
M110 is 2.67 million light years away and has a mass of 10 billion suns.
M31 Andromeda is 2.53 million light years away and has a mass of 800 billion Suns .
